Modification of the Lower Threshold That Triggers Second Auction Procedure in Day-Ahead Market
Due to the recent market circumstances specifically in The Netherlands, the Nominated Electricity Market Operators (‘NEMOs‘) operating the Single Day-Ahead Coupling have decided to modify the lower threshold that triggers the 2nd auction procedure from -150 EUR per MWh to -500 EUR per MWh.This communication note supplements the information distributed to market participants participating in the day-ahead electricity market.
The change will be implemented as of 15 June (first trading day) for delivery date 16 June, except the Czech Republic, where the change will take place from Thursday June 22 for delivery date 23 June.
The following countries are affected by the threshold switch to -500 EUR per MWh: Austria, Belgium, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland and Northern Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Spain, and The Netherlands.
