<p>Due to technology upgrade SAP, there will be an operational shutdown of the CDS system within CS OTE.  </p> <h1>System shutdown procedure</h1> <p> </p> <p>The shutdown will begin on Friday, March 27, 2026, at 3:30 p.m., during which the CDS system (application and communication server for electricity and gas) will be shut down. The CDS, Claims section for electricity and gas (including subordinate items) and the Gas Nomination section will be shut down within the OTE portal. The shutdown is expected to end on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at approximately 10:00 a.m. We will announce the end of the shutdown and the restoration of the market operator\'s information system via the news page on the main page of OTE portal. After the shutdown, the system will be fully functional. Due to the expected time of system restoration and delayed receipt of metering data, the results of imbalances for the delivery day of March 27, 2026, may be published later on March 28, 2026.</p> <p> </p> <h1>Impact on individual entities during the shutdown</h1> <p> </p> <h4>Supplier and balance responsible party (in electricity and gas)</h4> <p> </p> <p>In the CS OTE Information System, no queries for data from the CDS system, i.e., metering data, billing data, imbalance results, and clearings, will be functional for electricity and gas. It will not be possible to submit requests for a change of supplier, handover the responsibility for imbalance at PDTs or to query the current status of these requests. </p> <p> </p> <p>Trading on short-term electricity and gas markets and sending realization diagrams for electricity will function without restriction.</p> <p> </p> <p>In the gas industry, the receipt and processing of all types of nominations will be suspended.</p> <p> </p> <p><em><u>Transport, distribution, and storage nominations - gas only</u></em></p> <p>We ask balance responsible parties to send nominations for transmission, distribution, and storage for the gas day Saturday, March 28, 2026, to the relevant systems by 2:00 p.m. on March 27, 2026, at the latest. Renominations for gas transmission for the gas days March 27, 2026 and 28 March 2026 will only be possible via the transmission system operator\'s system from 3:30 p.m. on Friday until the end of the shutdown. <p>We would like to inform market participants, that OTE, a.s., has received information from the distribution system operator ČEZ Distribuce, a.s., about the termination of the contract for distribution services between ČEZ Distribuce, a.s., and Wattia energy a.s. (registered market participant number 34424, EAN 8591824442432) for points of delivery in the defined area of ČEZ Distribuce, a.s., as of February 15, 2026, 24:00.</p> <p> </p> <p>Based on this information, registered suppliers can submit an application for an accelerated change of supplier via the market operator\'s information system until February 15, 24:00. If no change of supplier occurs, the supplier of last resort for these points of delivery will be activated.</p>

<p><strong>As of 14 January 2026, electricity traders will benefit from greater flexibility in responding to real-time changes in electricity generation and consumption. ČEPS, a.s., the transmission system operator and OTE, a.s., the nominated market operator are jointly extending the gate closure time for cross-border trading on the continuous intraday market to 30 minutes before delivery. This represents an extension of 30 minutes compared to the current arrangement. The possibility to trade up to 5 minutes before delivery on OTE local continuous intraday market after the cross-border trading is closed remains unchanged.</strong></p> <p><strong> </strong></p> <p>The new rules apply to cross-border transmission capacities on the borders with Germany and Austria and are implemented in accordance with European Regulation (EU) 2024/1747.</p> <p><strong> </strong></p> <p><strong>Greater efficiency and more opportunities for market participants</strong></p> <p><em>“We are pleased that the Czech Republic is among the first countries to implement the new framework,” </em>said Mr. Michal Puchel, Chairman of the Board of Directors of OTE. <em>“The extension of the cross-border intraday trading window will enhance market participants’ ability to respond to real-time changes in generation and consumption, which is key given the increasing integration of renewable energy sources with output dependent on variable conditions.”</em></p> <p> </p> <p>According to ČEPS, such measures are essential in today’s market environment. <em>“Energy markets have been extremely volatile in recent years. As the share of renewable energy sources increases, so do fluctuations in generation, which must be managed efficiently,</em>” said Mr. Pavel Šolc, Member of the Board of Directors of ČEPS responsible for energy market operations and dispatching. <em>“The 30-minute extension of the gate closure time for cross-border trades will enhance liquidity management across coupled markets and contribute to the secure and stable operation of the power system.”</em></p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Trading on Borders with Poland and Slovakia Remains Unchanged</strong></p> <p>The gate closure time for cross-border continuous intraday trading on the borders with Slovakia and Poland will remain 60 minutes before delivery. This is due to requests for derogation submitted by the transmission system operators of Slovakia and Poland to their respective national regulatory authorities. Once the specific implementation date for the extended cross-border trading on these borders is confirmed, market participants will be informed in advance.</p>

<p>The energy market in 2025 experienced another very dynamic year. Czech customers again actively responded to developments on the energy market and changed their energy suppliers on a large scale. According to OTE statistics, 596,136 consumption points changed electricity suppliers during the year.
