<p>Under the rule of the government provision <code>no. 348/2021 Coll.</code> about the ending of daylight saving (summer) time which will come up this year on <code>October 27th 2024</code>, the conditions for the delivering of contracted and metered data to the <code>CS OTE</code> during the change to Central European time are attached <a data-val="e9bc7ef082de45fe822d3c858041d0d7" href="https://www.ote-cr.cz/en/about-ote/ote-news/the_time_change_in_the_cs-ote_on_october_27th_2024_js.doc" data-linktype="internal">here</a>.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Most companies in the Czech Republic that are part of the European system emissions trading system (EU ETS) have fulfilled their legal obligation and surrendered allowances in the amount corresponding to their greenhouse gas emissions by 30th September. For the record of emissions and allowances, the single Union registry is used. In the Czech Republic, the registry is administered by the joint-stock company OTE. The EU ETS is a cornerstone of the EU\'s climate policy and its key tool to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. It is the world\'s first carbon market and remains among the largest ones globally.</strong></p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><br />Obligation to surrender allowances by 30th September of the calendar year in a quantity corresponding to their greenhouse gas emissions emitted into the atmosphere in the previous year calendar year specifically applies to the operators of the installations for each installation, which has been issued a permit by the Ministry of the Environment to emit greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, and aircraft operators for each aircraft that has an operating licence issued in the Czech Republic or falls under the administration of the Czech Republic according to the list of aircraft operators issued by the European Commission. This year, the obligation to surrender allowances has become mandatory for 6 aircraft operators and 221 stationary installations that are operated by 153 companies. Emissions for 2023 amounted to 46 934 736t CO2e, which is 18% less than in the previous year 2022.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><br />155 companies surrendered allowances by the legal deadline, which is 97.5% of the total number. <p>In connection with the amendment to Decree No. 344/2012 Coll., on the State of Emergency in the Gas Industry and the Method of Ensuring the Security Standard of Supplies, a <a href="https://www.ote-cr.cz/../../statistics/security-standard-of-supplies-gas-sss?set_language=en">table</a> showing the possibility of the gas trader to take measures regarding the security standard of supplies according to the conditions set out in Annex 3 of the above mentioned Decree has been made available on the OTE public website in the section Statistics =&gt; Security Standard of Supplies – GAS.</p>

<p>On September 23, 2024, the NEMO Committee’s 2nd Annual Conference took place in Athens, welcoming representatives from the energy sector. The conference was organized by Nominated Electricity Market Operators (‘NEMOs’) from across Europe. Ondřej Máca, Head of Market Development at OTE, a.s. and Chairman of the NEMO IDSC (Nominated Electricity Market Operator Intraday Steering Committee), also actively participated in the panel titled "20 YEARS OF INTEGRATED MARKETS IN EUROPE: WHAT\'S NEXT?". The meeting provided a comprehensive overview of the progress in integrating European electricity markets, challenges faced, and key topics for the upcoming period.</p> <p>Crucial discussions centered around the future development of the Single Day-Ahead Coupling (‘SDAC’) and Single Intraday Coupling (‘SIDC’) markets, particularly in light of the European electricity market reform (‘EMD’), which came into effect in July this year, as well as the expectations for the upcoming CACM 2.0 Regulation (‘CACM,’ Commission Regulation (EU) 2015/1222 of July 24, 2015, establishing a guideline on capacity allocation and congestion management).</p> <p>The conference also provided an opportunity to present <a href="https://www.nemo-committee.eu/assets/files/cacm-annual-report-2023.pdf">the 2023 CACM Annual Report</a>. In the closing session related to the integration of non-EU countries, particularly those associated through the Energy Community (‘EnC’), the status and complexity of future integration of EnC members into the Single Day-Ahead and Intraday Coupling (‘SDAC‘ a ‘SIDC‘) was discussed.
